A big tree stands in the center of the picture, as if supporting the whole world, with its tentacle-like branches stretching out towards the pond. Underneath the tree, the sacred bridge and lanterns in vermilion chant a mysterious incantation. The swans, ducks and cranes in the pond are also swimming together in this surreal place.
In the painting, we seem to see various cultural elements from the West and the East coexisting and flourishing under the flamboyant tree. Such a scene is perhaps the ideal world in the painter’s mind!
