Overlooked from the position of the Tamsui Public Hall, quite a lot of people stroll in Xia Jie (i.e. Lower Street). In the complex of classic and simple buildings, two rows of electric poles line the straight street; this modernized neighborhood is developed in good order. Conversely, sprawling high and low, these buildings stick out their white walls one after another, pulsating with an entertaining sense of rhythm. Because of the reflection of sunlight, the small town is bathed in a vast expanse of warm orange red, which sets off the turquoise river wonderfully. In this painting, Tamsui is a bewitching dreamscape with elegance and childlike delight.
