A Scene in Chang Jung Girls’ Senior High School

The most distinctive characteristic of the building in this work is the ramp in front of the building, which is an important representative feature of the Residence of Rev. Thomas Barclay in Tainan Theological College and Seminary campus, and the building with Western-style round-arched windows in the background of the painting, which explains the attributes of the scene. In the foreground, the female students are cleaning in the shade of a large tree. The overall layout of light and shadow configuration can better reflect the situation when the seminary was closed for temporary use as a student dormitory due to the war.
